Welcome to the Anglican Fellowship of Prayer Web Site! As the name implies, our business is PRAYER.  Specifically our business  is encouraging and helping church parishes teach their people to be a praying church.

We do this by leading workshops on prayer, h olding local diocesan prayer conferences or day of prayer conferences and through this website.

Do you know that most people generally think of prayer as (a) something you do in church on Sunday and/or (b) something you do only when you are in need?  We strive to get people to change that perspective and come to an understanding that prayer should be a way of life, a daily relationship with our Creator, His son and the Holy Spirit.

There are different facets of prayer.  These facets begin with Adoration of God for who He is and for all of His glory, for God "inhabits the praises of His people".  After adoration comes Thanksgiving to God for His creation, for the gift of life and for all our blessings from His hand.  This leads to Confessing our faults and sins for we cannot be in God's presence and not realize our sinfulness.  We ask for forgiveness for ourselves for what we have done and for what we have left undone and we give our forgiveness to others who have wronged us.  When we have reached this stage then we can make our Petitions for ourselves and Intercessions for others.  This is what is known as Abiding in God.  This is what God's Prayer is all about.

See our upcoming conferences schedule for information on our upcoming regional, national and international conferences

We also have a wide variety of books on and about prayer available for purchase, including The Parish As A Center of Prayer. You might want to encourage your parish to purchase this book and put it to use. It is a great resource and "how to" book on prayer.

Do you have a prayer request ? If so, we are available for that. Would you like to join our team of cyberspace "prayer warriors" (intercessors)?  Can we be of service to you? Send an e-mail to prayers@afp.org.

Check out our entire offering. We think you will find something of interest here and hope that you will come back often.

Again, thanks for stopping by.
