A Prayer for the Feast of the Transfiguration
O God, who on the holy mount revealed to chosen witnesses your well-beloved Son, wonderfully transfigured, in raiment white and glistening: Mercifully grant that we, being delivered from the disquietude of this world, may by faith behold the King in his beauty.
May each of us reflect in our lives the transfigured Christ; and may the light of Christ draw others to come and know him as Savior; who with you, O Father, and you, O Holy Spirit, lives and reigns, one God, for ever an ever. Amen.
Almighty God, you have revealed to your Church your eternal Being of glorious majesty and perfect love as one God in Trinity of Persons: Give us grace to continue steadfast in the confession of this faith, and constant in our worship of you, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; for you live and reign, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
Grant, we pray, Almighty God, that as we believe your only-begotten Son our Lord Jesus Christ to have ascended into heaven, so we may also in heart and mind there ascend, and with him continually dwell; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
God of unchangeable power: when you fashioned the world, the morning stars sang together and the hosts of heaven shouted for joy. Open our eyes to the wonders of creation, and teach us to use all things for good, to the honor of your glorious Name; through Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen
Almighty God, who through your only-begotten Son Jesus Christ overcame death and opened to us the gate of everlasting life: Grant that we, who celebrate with joy the day of the Lord's resurrection, may be raised from the death of sin by your life-giving Spirit.
